Is it normal to have a winning streak and then suddenly start losing several games in a row?

This has happened to me more than once, and I was just wondering if others have also had to deal with it?
or in chess its called getting tilted. Everyone experiences it.
Just take a break. When your mind is calm again and your focus returns , then you will play better.
ofcourse. just as much it is normal win every second game or win two in row and lose two in row.
It seems to me that, in blitz games, players are effectively guessing what to do. Guesses can become more reckless due to various emotional factors.
Winnin' streaks 'n losin' streaks are a part o' life. While they be sometimes caused by tilt or the culmination o' proper work, the truth be that they sometimes jus' happen, 'n are sometimes also out o' yer control.

Remember, Chess be a two-player game: Some o' yer opponents be also tiltin' or workin' properly.

If tilts constantly happen, consider takin' a longer break. Otherwise, they be jus' ups 'n downs.
Even if the results were completely random and independent, winning or losing streaks would be expected. If you play e.g. 6 games in a row with 50% chance to win/lose each, you have 1/64 chance to win all of them and 1/64 chance to lose all. In practice, the chance is in fact higher for most people as we tend to focus better when feeling confident after a win and worse after a loss.

There are exceptions, though. I remember reading an article which investigated players performance after a lost game (e.g. next round in a tournament or next match game). An extreme example was Magnus Carlsen whose results after lost games were significantly better than average. Which seems to be part of why it's so extremely hard to defeat him in a match.
