Flora’s Chess Club is a parent-led group that meets on a Wednesday from 3.20 to 4.20 and is open to pupils at the school from P3 upwards who already know how to play chess. We also run lunchtime classes for complete beginners in P3 and 4.

Our players compete in local tournaments, both team and individual, and in the spring term we run the school’s round of the UK Chess Challenge during Golden Time on Fridays.
In order to keep the club going, and to open it up to more children, we need adults to help. Knowing how to play isn’t essential and coming along is a great way to learn to play. Please get in touch if you’re interested in helping either on an occasional or regular basis.
