Rude/arrogant people on lichess

#11 REPORTED!!!1111

In all seriousness, my opinion is that a discussion like this is good every once in a while, as it reminds people about netiquette.
There has always been trolls on the internet. First they insult you, then they waste your time, then they self destruct, and you win.

If you are upset about such behaviour, just report it.
I must admit I enjoy when they are rude and aggressive because then I can be nasty to them and 'teach them a lesson'. There is no lesson other than nasty person was nasty to someone who likes to be nasty. I can only do it to people I believe 'deserves it' Its all very complicated and childish .
BRING IT TROLLS
*This is not an advertisement requesting online rude battles. I am 39 years of age and quite happy to play games in peace with no childish insults.
BRING IT
I actually think that people here are more civil than on chess.com (where I came from), but more people know of chess.com so maybe that just means that there is a bigger pool of people, meaning a higher probability of encountering an *sshole just based on numbers alone.

I've only had three really mean people. One person got mad at me for offering a draw (that they accepted! in a casual, unrated game!) and called that a d*ck move. The other two were homophobes who seemed to think that telling me how much I liked men would insult me. Little did they know... ;)
I don't use chat. Well... I do. But if someone even starts to say something disrespectful to me I just ignore them. Usually after a while they give up. Though usually swears are said once you start ignoring them...
As a new player it is always discouraging whenever someone is rude, especially when they are a far superior player. I had this occur tonight with someone who was 500 plus points higher than me during a casual bullet game. I mean what do they expect, an immortal game by me?

That said it is refreshing when you run into someone who offers advice or just says gg.
I have to say that I have had far less abuse on lichess than when I played on chess.com

On chess.com it seemed like I couldn't go for an evening without someone crying about losing, or whinging because they didn't get their rematch.
