Consistent lag and disconnection during play

What can I do on my end to reduce lag and short pulses of disconnection?

I have the same problem across several networks, whether I am connected to my home, office, public, hotel internet after every 3 or 4 games (ultra bullet) my time runs down/clocks stop then when it reconnects I lose by time. These pulses of disconnection usually last for about 8 seconds then it reconnects. Sometimes it tells me will be temporarily banned for not playing...Lol.

Lag

If it's the same across several networks, it could be a modem problem, or maybe low computer memory

Examine the possible contributing factors and rule them out one by one.

Check for viruses, check processes that might be accesing the network on the background (like torrents). Any software that is draining a lot of resources (like 3d software) . Could be also the browser itself if you have way too many tabs open. Streaming or watching videos.

If nothing, aim for a clean install of windows or add more memory to the pc.
