Rating inflation on lichess

Three and a half years ago lichess ratings were about 400 points lower than chess.com, today they're about 400 points higher than chess.com.

Personally I'd rather the ratings be too low than too high.
I think there is inflation
I checkmated the other day a 2100+ player in less than 20 moves with a cheap maneuver, like Ne5 queen in the h file or something like that
http://en.lichess.org/Kaf4cXfg/white#32
now I only play casual
I used to have trouble with players of 1600 level or 1700 and I might have improved but not much
I think some inflation has ocurred
I feel myself if I wanted to push in the 1850-1900 at least I guess
whereas if there were not inflation I would be 1700-1770
I have no clue actually, but there is some inflation,
I would say at least a hundred points of inflation, perhaps even more but hard to tell since I play casual and Im not used to rating points,
150 points 200, might be a posibility of inflation.
and if there is inflation which is my feeling I think is bad overall
because rating points have to be hard earned,
and I dont play bullet but there is some inflation there is a guy there that has like 3000 I mean its ridiculous,
even if rating points are relative it would be better that they were
300 hundred lower, 500 hundred lower, or at least two hundred
because when I was playing rated I had the challengue of reaching 2000 (in some years) but if there is inflation the challengue gets diluted
so I mean I just dont like it
I play casual but there should not be inflation.
RE: #11 - compared to chess.com: chess.com made "an adjustment" a few years back - gave most everyone a few hundred rating points. I think they were trying to get their titled players to play more rated games with the amateurs - so made them all closer rating to the titled players.
@Puzzletraining Nice game, perhaps we can't be too hard on your opponent because I read in the comments that this was part of a simul they were giving? But I agree that they still didn't play like a 2100, and this is another bad part about the ratings being inflated is because then we start to think we actually are the inflated rating and do pretentious things like give simuls.

@MarkJ32 Yes I saw the rating increase at chess.com when it happened and am aware, and I made my statement with that in mind. Actually it's like the sites are in competition to see who can get the most inflated ratings, first it starts out that Lichess ratings are deflated compared to Chess.com. Then as Lichess started gaining popularity they increased the ratings so Chess.com was even lower for a bit, then Chess.com increased their ratings so they were more inflated than Lichess again, and now somehow the ratings at Lichess seem to have gradually inflated to be above Chess.com. It's like an inflation arms race. Maybe there's some marketing thing we don't know about where people prefer to play on chess sites where they have the highest rating so the sites are trying to outdo each other.
no I was the one giving the simul, Im not hard in the opponent
its fine that they make mistakes I do as well, everybody does
its just an example I mean its the problem of giving examples
I cant give abstract examples,
its just an example of what I feel that I just think its inflated
nothing else.
The rating on this site are *extremely* inflated. I've been playing pretty well lately but I'm rated over 2100 here now and ranked like 2000 out of 40K which is downright ridiculous. I'm not that good. Real strength is somewhere around 1800 USCF on a really good day in a full length OTB match. My blitz rating on chess.com is 1600ish. The longer time controls have definitely helped my play a bit but not anywhere CLOSE to 500 points worth. I like the ego boost of beating 2200s though so I'm just gonna go with it...
"inflated" really doesn't matter, does it? If our lichess ratings accurately reflect our ability compared to everyone else on lichess, we can use that rating to get a good game on lichess. lichess rating shouldn't mean anything more than that?

I love this site, but the Rating shown here is too optimistic!
It's not so hard get 1800-2000 here. It should be!

The inflaction of the rating here is a reality and this is only good for the ego of players, not for show how good we really are.

Here I can have over 1600-1700 but I know that is not my real Rating. In others sites I have only 1200-1300. So the Rating here is overrated at least 300 points - that is too much!

IMHO the system rating should show the real force of the players, I've been playing in others sites with the more precise Rating system, and I think others players can be doing the same for the same reason.

I think some change at current system rating would be welcome.
The problem is as GramJam pointed out, when we go to play real life tournaments all of us are going to be disappointed when we get a FIDE or USCF rating of several hundred points lower than we are here.

Lichess should go back to deflated ratings. Subtract 700 points from everyone and from now on start new accounts at 800.
