Gaza

This topical discussion is fraught with passions on both sides. So powerful is it that Western Governments are being destabilised by demonstrations by both Jewish and Muslim diasporas. Violence is erupting in streets in some cases and must be ruthlessly stomped out. These groups came to new lands to start a new life, not bring their hatred & violence from the old country to Western shores.

A two state solution with Jerusalem declared an independent city state under UN Control is required. The Legislative bodies of Israel, Palestine, and the UN World HQ all should be located there. No "Green Line" from 1947. Start with a blank piece of paper and draw out two contiguous lands new from scratch. The territory of Israel will be for Israelis, the territory of Palestine for Palestinians. Those who aren't in their territories now must be compensated and relocated. Neither side is going to like it and coercion from the global community may be required to make it happen.

Israel isn't going anywhere now and any attempt to remove it from the map will result in nuclear conflagration in the Middle East. The Palestinians must get a homeland to call their own where they can live in peace & dignity. The two parties are going to hate each other for a long time. Many generations will be required to heal this hatred if it's possible at all.

I'm going to have to learn more about Israeli internal politics. I know Netanyahu was being investigated for corruption before Oct 7th, and I have read that as long as the war goes on he won't have to face charges. Kind of a personal incentive to keep it going.

There is no serious discussion. Instead there is a half-baked attempt to disguise what is really going on.

Well, why don't you just elucidate us all here. Tell us what you believe is going on here,... precisely.

I think you know quite well what's going on in Gaza right now.
From my knowledge, wasn't the Palestinian area colonized by the British, and then after WW|| gave the area to Israel and did a kind of split in the middle?

Let's play this game. Can you forget what happened from 1936 to 1939? You still have the audacity to question that period.
