Germany, please look into the death of Sammy Baker

@Katzenschinken said in #10:
You ask these questions to people who "engage with my question", as if they should have ignored me. So I will instead answer them.

> 1) Is it because Seewald was a fellow German?
No, I'm not German.

> 2) Is it because he was an influencer that you followed?
No, I didn't know him before he was killed.

> 3) Is it because you think the dutch police's guidelines for handling these kind of situations are not appropriate?
No, it's not only about guidelines. (false testimony is already prohibited)

> 4) Is it for general reasons of injustice?
Maybe yes. I don't know what "general" is supposed to mean though.

So let's say I raised the issue because of 4. Your answer then is:
> If 4): There are a lot more blatant examples of injustice in this world than someone walking towards law enforcement officers with a knife and getting killed. Why exactly did you choose particularly this one to engage in?

So we can't raise it, because there are more blatant cases? What a stupid way to silence those asking for/about justice. If the problems with police are systemic, which to me seems the case, then by all means we should, for all our safety be able to discuss what needs to be done. Also note that the victim can not defend himself, because they shot him.

Can you explain your angry tone? What causes these emotions?

@four_legs_good A lot of humans have this habit of “looking the other way” (including me sometimes, I’ll admit) because we don’t want to see reality. We think that if we don’t acknowledge it, then it also didn’t happen.

But I do think it’s true that people are noticing. For example, in my country, there are protests over things like these.

You can raise whatever you want. But specifically addressing Germans to raise it is really dumb. Because it is not us who have to deal with the dutch police on a daily basis. And again: You don't know what really happened. Otherwise cases could be decided just by reading news articles, not in a court, as is the proper way.

If something is stupid it is what you did: Basically playing a hollow nationalism card by yelling something like "Germans, flood the dutch authorities with your protest and restore the honor of your fellow countryman!"
I m not German, but I know that stuff, when Police are doing whatever they want, to "keep it safe" , but in fact they just bothering all , and do harm to enviroment and the world itself. It's just matter of how strong You are , to able not to be affected by that
Im stand up against injustice.
But if the involved "victim" was on drugs. Im out.
If it was drunk, im out.
If it had a knife and he/she wasnt in the kitchen/cooking. Im out.
If it had a weapon, im out.
If he/she tried to hurt some one else, im out.

70%-80% of the problem was that person itself.

Did it deserved to die? Who knows, but it did deserved to be incapacitated, and a lot of things can go wrong there.
>Pathological Altruism:
>altruism in which attempts to promote the welfare of others instead result in unanticipated harm.

uhm, do you even know how hard is to ppl with mental problems to face these doctors every day? they actually suffer not only due desease , but the fact doctors are pressing them in different ways, including useless medicine, that " helps" but in fact harms
I don't know about that exact case, but main problem is that

When you see one of those running towards you with a knife in a threatening way, the last thing you care about is their mental health. Its your own health and yours what you care about. They have to be stopped or some one might not live another day.

Not everyone knows about your condition but your friends and family. The police wont know, a random stranger wont know. Dont expect anyone in the encounter not related to the person to know about their condition. The police sees some one running towards another with a knife, he is gonna shoot him right on the spot to prevent him from harming you.

Are there exceptions to the rule? Sure, but most likely you are not going to have it.
