fear is one of the 4 basic emotions, which are common in all animals, a product of many years of evolution, and something quite useful to have
Imagine a species that is not afraid of fire for example. Lets just say that it will not have a *bright* future ahead of it :)
Now because humans are so intellectually evolved they are capable of fearing more abstract notions such as loneliness, growing older, etc
But the first step to actually make here is to understand that, this is NOT a bad quality to have
If you fear of growing old, that means, your self, is trying to push yourself, to make things, to live as fully as you can, to appreciate even the moments in your life which might seem dull at first glance, and finally to take good care of yourself.
So to make this point short, you are on the right path my friend, dont be afraid of fear and basically just live. You can never go wrong with this advice -unless there is some weird scenario of a zombie asking advice :)
