Please implement bughouse

I know devs keep saying Lichess architecture is 1v1 and it would make it hard to implement bughouse, plus long term maintainability, blah blah blah.
I don't care. Lichess not having bughouse is an absolute disgrace.
If a five-star hotel doesn't have a bar because the architect thought it would not fit nicely in his design, it would still be a disgrace and people would still complain.

I would like bughouse too, however, it would make lichess lag if a lot of people play it since you need to handle captures from the other side, be able to see the other board while playing your game, it would cause too many problems. trust me, it would lag A LOT, it would make lichess no better than chess.com on the lag scale.
and @LSG10 its not good to insult people, I know you probably meant it in a funny way, but maybe don't say stuff like this :)
I'd love to see bughouse here on lichess but I would also love if you'd be able to ask nicely for it ;)
It, in my opinion, would only be a disgrace if lichess was known as a chess variant site.
It isn't and only few variants are on it.

It's like your metaphor, if the 5-star was known for it's variants (eg bar?), it might be a disgrace to not have a certain variant.
It just isn't. @tourdivoire

It's main features are free, chess, open source, it's ad-lessness and stuff.
It never has been a chess-variant-focused site. lichess.org/about

It might be fine to feature request a variant, but
It sounds wrong imo to write that

#1 Lichess is open source...

"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”
