Neuralink & the future of Chess

ChessChess engineSoftware DevelopmentOff topic
Is this the beginning of the end of Chess as we know it?

When I started playing I joked that I couldn't wait for them to start selling Neuralink's that would allow you to become a GM for 24hrs for $9.99...

..and with recent news that a paraplegic man was able to resume playing Chess after a brain implant, that might not be such a silly thought.

Clearly, it might not even be possible to cheat chess like that, as it's a game of more than just memorizing moves, but what if it was possible to give people the instant knowledge of a super GM or Stockfish-like abilities? Would people even want to try it? I'm sure cheaters would!

Well what if they could upgrade your abilities in a certain aspect of Chess, or give you complete theoretical knowledge of an opening...?
I'm sure some honest players would think about it then!

More realistically, the current Neuralink could be made non-invasive and available to everyone, so how would that affect players abilities if they could move the pieces just by thinking about it?
Will the future be full of online players who've never used a mouse?

Will beasts like Hikaru become even better when playing Mind Chess?

And yes, I'm sure they would call it Mind Chess :)
